Kenny Scharf

Kenny Scharf was born in 1958 Los Angeles, CA, where he is based. He graduated in 1980 from B.F.A. School of Visual Arts in New York, NY. His ambition as a professional artist is to maintain the course that he set 30 years ago by establishing his work in the fields of painting, sculpture, and performance. Every project he undertakes is building on his past experiences. His original approach is unchanged, and according to him, it is a personal challenge to produce the best work possible every time. One very important and guiding principle to his work is to reach out beyond the elitist boundaries of fine art and connect to popular culture through his art. His personal ambition has always been to live the example.
